Domestic Violence
The Archdiocese Domestic Violence Committee (ADVC) is a program of the Department of Parish Life and Formation. Under this heading, the offices for Black Catholics, Councils, Family Ministries, and Peace and Justice meet regularly to coordinate our efforts to serve parishes and parishioners regarding issues related to domestic violence.
The mission of the ADVC has five elements:
- Education and awareness,
- The production and distribution of resources,
- Promoting parish “best practices,”
- Facilitates communication and collaboration among persons working to address domestic violence issues,
- Hosts an “Annual Summit Meeting” of all those involved in this ministry in the Archdiocese.
