SATURDAY evening’s Archdiocesan “Mass for Life” begins week of events to mark 32nd anniversary of roe v. wade
CHICAGO (January 14, 2005) -- Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, will celebrate a special “Mass for Life” in commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, at St. Mary of the Angels Church, 1850 N. Hermitage Ave., Chicago. More than 1,000 Catholics throughout the Archdiocese are expected to attend.
The Roe v. Wade anniversary will also be the subject of prayer when Most Rev. Thomas Paprocki, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, celebrates a “send-off” Mass for 100 young Chicago-area pilgrims traveling to the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., at 7 p.m. nextFriday, January 21, at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash Ave., Chicago. Following the Mass, participants will depart on buses for the pilgrimage to the nation’s capitol.
