ARCHDIOCESAN PERSONNEL DIRECTOR EARNS
PRESTIGIOUS LEADERSHIP AWARD
Chicago, IL ( April 9, 2007 )- The National Association of Church Personnel Administrators (NACPA) recently named Carol Fowler, Ph.D., D. Min., Director of the Department of Personnel Services for the Archdiocese of Chicago, as its 2007 Leadership Award winner. She will be presented with the award on April 23 at the upcoming NACPA convocation in St. Louis.
Dr. Fowler was chosen for her leadership on behalf of church workplace justice at the Archdiocesan, regional and national levels. She is known for her sensitivity in guiding the development of policies and practices that respect and honor individual needs and all of the human resources functions for laity, religious, and clergy for 15 Archdiocese of Chicago agencies.
Dr. Fowler serves as a consultant to the National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management and chairs their Human Resources Program Committee. She was also recently named to the Advisory Board of the Center for Church Management at Villanova University and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Dr. Fowler is past president of the National Association of Church Personnel Administrators and the National Association of Diocesan Directors of Campus Ministry. She has also served on the board of Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, the Catholic Campus Ministry Association and was on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Education.
Dr. Fowler earned her Doctor of Ministry degree at Baltimore's St. Mary's Seminary and University, her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Chicago's Adler School of Professional Psychology and her B.A. in Social Science with a secondary teaching certificate from Michigan State University. She is the co-author of The Gospel on Campus , a handbook on campus ministry.
