Catholic Men Invited to Daylong Event
Chicago, IL (March 9, 2010) – Catholic men are invited to attend a daylong conference on Saturday, March 20, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, will celebrate the closing Mass of the conference at 4:15 p.m. The Office for Evangelization and the Office for Hispanic Catholics are sponsoring the Chicago Catholic Men’s Conference 2010 entitled, Be men of courage; be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13).
The day begins with a welcome and prayer at 8:30 a.m., followed by several nationally renowned speakers who will address the group in English and Spanish, including: Fr. William Casey, CPM, a frequent guest on EWTN; Fr. James E. Goode, OFM, Pastoral Director of Solid Ground Franciscan Ministry, an evangelization ministry with African American Families; Patrick Madrid, publisher of Envoy Magazine, a journal of contemporary Catholic thought, and director of the Envoy Institute of Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina; Curtis Martin, President and Founder of FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students; and Hector Molina, a bilingual lay Catholic speaker and Evangelist, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
