Chicago, IL (June 9, 2011) Francis Cardinal George, OMI, Archbishop of Chicago, will preside at a Prayer Service in Holy Family Church, 1080 West Roosevelt Road in Chicago, followed by the dedication of the newly constructed Healing Garden of the Archdiocese of Chicago, created as a place of prayer and healing for victim-survivors of clerical, sexual abuse, their families and the greater Catholic Church.

The idea of the garden came from clergy abuse victims, priests and Office for the Protection of Children and Youth staff members, and was approved by Cardinal George.  A Healing Garden Planning Committee, comprised of four victim‐survivors, two diocesan priests and staff members from the Office for the Protection of Children and Youth, has been instrumental in the design and execution of the Healing Garden, the initial construction of which began in November 2010.

A focal point of the Healing Garden is the sculpture, Circle of Love, depicting the Holy Family that is a gift of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.
