Ecumenical Sunday Celebrated June 9 Open to the Public

Chicago, IL (June 7, 2013) Rev. Thomas A. Baima, Vicar for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the Archdiocese of Chicago, will join local Christian bishops and judicatory leaders to pray for Christian Unity at the 13th Annual Ecumenical Prayer Service, Sunday, June 9, beginning with a reception at 4 p.m., at Mar Thomas Sleeha Syro-Malabar Catholic Cathedral, 5000 St. Charles Road in Bellwood.  The speaker for the service that begins at 5 p.m. is Rev. Deborah Paton, 2013 Moderator, Chicago Presbytery.

The annual observance is sponsored by Ecumenism Metro Chicago, a group of nineteen faith communities in the Chicago area. In addition to sponsoring this annual service, Ecumenism Metro Chicago is a catalyst for ecumenical courtesy, hospitality and information in the Chicago area.
