ARCHDIOCESAN PARISHES AND SCHOOLS JOIN worldwide prayers for syria
Pope Francis Declares Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace in Syria
Saturday, September 7

Chicago, IL (September 4, 2013) Pope Francis has called for a Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace in Syria, the Middle East, and the world to be held on September 7, 2013.  A number of parishes and shrines throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago will participate in prayer simultaneously with those in Saint Peter’s Square in Rome, from noon until 5 p.m.  Catholics, Christians and those of other religions have been invited by the Pope to participate in any way that they can.

The following parishes and shrines in Chicago and the suburbs will be open to all to pray for peace in Syria on Saturday, September 7, from noon to 5 p.m.
