CARDINAL AND BISHOPS JOIN YOUNG CHICAGO-AREA PILGRIMS FOR "WORLD YOUTH DAY" CELEBRATION IN COLOGNE, GERMANY
Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago, and Auxiliary Bishops Gustavo Garcia-Siller, John Manz and Joseph Perry will be meeting with many of the more than 500 young people from the Archdiocese of Chicago who are now in Germany to attend the 20th annual “World Youth Day” celebration in Cologne, hosted by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.
According to his scheduled plans, Cardinal George on Wednesday presented a catechetical session for English-speaking young people on “Searching for truth, the deepest meaning of human existence” at St. Francis Xavier Hall in Düsseldorf.

THOUSANDS TURN OUT FOR EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION AND BENEDICTION

CRS COMMITS STAFF AND $25 MILLION - CRS has committed $25 million for emergency relief and long-term rehabilitation programs to assist people devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami.
